The house is quiet.
Except for the soft, green glow of the baby monitor, all lights are out. Outside, the wind whistles and gently rustles the leaves of the trees.
Inside, mommy and baby rock slowly in the chair. It's bedtime.
Mommy leans her head atop the little one resting sweetly on her shoulder.
"I love you," she whispers, snuggling tighter. Ever so softly, her little man whispers back, "Wuv you. Wuv you, too."
Even if the lights were on, she wouldn't be able to see through the tears blurring her vision.
